Ok friends –
Make plans now to join friends, neighbors and loved ones for a Valentines Day walk on Saturday, February 14 at 10 a.m. from Summerlake Park! I’ll have a course map ready to share soon, so stay tuned.
Most of us think of the human heart as the symbol of love. February is American Heart Month, so why not join a Tigard Walks event and show yourself some love!
Hello there Tigard Walkers!
If you were able to join us for the January 1st walk through Cook Park, I applaud your resistance to cold! We had 25 walkers participate, with a choice of two courses. The day was beautiful, cold and sunny! I’m sure it’s a good omen for the coming year of walks. What a great way to support the city’s strategic plan goal: To make Tigard the most walkable city in the northwest where people of all ages and abilities enjoy healthy and interconnected lives.
I hope you’ll join us for the February walk – watch this site, the city’s website, your Neighborhood Network Website blog or Cityscape for details….and if you have suggestions for walks send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Walking in the New Year!
Getting a map and warming up!
With the end of the school year the Tigard Walks project has officially wound down. You can view and download the final plan and supplemental guides by following the links on the right, or following the link below:
Tigard Walks: A Plan for Walkable Neighborhoods in Tigard
We had a blast working with the people of Tigard during the Tigard Walks project, and we hope that you are as pleased with the results as we are.
After months of research, analysis, community feedback, and good old fashioned walking, we’re finally ready to present a set of strategies that will help Tigard reach its walkability goals. Join us this Tuesday, May 13th, between 6:30-8:30pm at Fowler Middle School to learn about the five – count ‘em, five! – strategies, and let us know where in the city they would be most successful.
Here’s a preview of the 5 walkability strategies.
Join StepUP Studio on May 13th from 6:30-8:30pm at Fowler Middle School as we show off our draft walkability strategies for Tigard.
And be sure to come by the first Tigard Area Farmer’s Market on Sunday, May 11th. We’ll be there looking for feedback from residents about walkability strategies.
Where do you want to see pedestrian improvements in Tigard?
StepUP Studio is hosting two walking tours in Tigard next week and we want you to join us!
Join your Tigard friends and neighbors for walking tours around Fowler Middle School and Summerlake Park. Together we will experience the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of being a pedestrian as we look for ways to make Tigard one of the most walkable cities in the country.
